2023: Agege Political Leaders Purchase APC Nomination Form For Obasa
Political leaders in Agege on Saturday purchased nomination and expression of interest forms of the All Progressives Congress for the Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Madushiru Obasa.
The politicians under the aegis of the Agege Leadership Council unveiled the forms at the house of the Agege APC apex leader, Safari Adaranijo.
According to the political leaders, they contributed to raise the funds for the purchase of the forms.
While giving reason for purchasing the forms, the leaders said they got the forms for the Speaker to appreciate him for playing positive roles in the development and progress of Agege.
The forms were purchased days after the leaders endorsed him and charged him to return to the House of Assembly.
The leaders while unveiling the former lauded Obasa’s contribution to the development of Lagos State.
They noted that Obasa has the experience and the capacity to continue as the Speaker of the state assembly
Adaranijo claimed that Agege has witnessed development with Obasa’s performance.
He said, “We the leaders of APC in Agege and the entire members of the party in Agege, decided to get these forms for our Rt. Hon. Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, because he’s a performer and we are lucky to have him.
“Talking about the bridge, roads in Agege, Obasa is excellent, that’s partly why we the leaders of APC decided to get these forms for him.
“As Speaker, he became Chairman of the Conference of Speakers in Nigeria; when we look at legislative duties in Nigeria today, Lagos is number one, and that’s the reason why we want him to come and speak again the way he has been speaking well for Lagos State.”
Some of the leaders present at the press briefing included the first Executive Chairman of Agege, Chief Gani Owolabi Dada; former Assembly members, Elder Rotimi Adesina and Hon. Adebayo Ashimiu; APC chairmen in Agege and Orile-Agege, Alhaji Tunde Azeez and Olaniyi Salau Ojo, respectively.
Others are council chairmen of Agege and Orile-Agege, Alhaji Ganiyu Egunjobi and Mr Johnson Sunday Babatunde; former sole administrator/vice-chairman Agege, Gbenga Abiola; former party chairman, Alhaji Ayoni Shittu; party leader, Elder Sunday Ajide; former sole administrator of Orile-Agege, James Agbola and Hon. Olabisi Adedokun.
