2023: APC Postpones Screening Of Presidential Aspirants
The ruling All Progressives Congress has shifted the screening of the twenty-eight presidential aspirants who have submitted their nomination forms to the 23rd of May.
The party shifted the screening following the decision of some presidential aspirants to withdraw from the presidential race.
According to the APC, the party would screen the remaining presidential aspirants on the 23rd of this month.
The development was confirmed in a statement released by the National Organising Secretary of the party, Sulaiman Argungu, on Saturday.
Argungu noted that the statement was released after some stakeholders in the party called and texted to know why the presidential category was left out of the weekend’s two-day exercise.
He said, “The screening for the presidential aspirants, we have so far 28 presidential aspirants.
“As you are all aware, some aspirants have started withdrawing their aspirations. By God’s grace, on the 23rd of this month, those who are left will be screened properly.”
The party, however, screened aspirants contesting for the House of Representatives and the Senate today, while governorship aspirants would be screened tomorrow.
