2023: Atiku Accused Of Stealing Economic Policy Document
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has been accused of lying about the ownership of his economic policy document.
Naija News reports that Atiku, prior to the 2019 presidential election, released his policy document titled, ” Let’s Get Nigeria Working Again”.
The former Vice President described the document as the sure path to Nigeria’s economic and social recovery and highlighted five major economic agendas as the basis of his plan.
Atiku listed the five agendas as a Competitive and Open Economic System, Reforming public institutions, Reducing Infrastructure Deficit, Promoting Economic Diversification, and Human Capital Development.
But in an interview on Arise News on Thursday, an economist, Basil Odilim Enwegbara, claimed to have authored the document and was responsible for the ideas.
He noted further that Atiku since then adopted his proposal in the document as his economic policy without seeking his consent.
The economist, however, said that he could file a lawsuit against the PDP presidential candidate over property right violation.
