2023: Atiku Has Nothing Against Zoning – Dokpesi
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Raymond Dokpesi, says former Vice President and presidential hopeful, Atiku Abubakar has nothing against zoning arrangement.
He made this known while speaking with reporters shortly after submitting Atiku’s Presidential nomination forms at the PDP National Secretariat, Abuja, on Monday.
Dokpesi, Chairman of the Atiku Technical Committee, added that the party’s zoning arrangement would not be against the presidential ambition of his principal.
The PDP chieftain, however, dispelled rumours that there are internal problems in the opposition party, stressing that the party is one big family.
He said: “Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has nothing against zoning. By the special grace of God, when we get to the bridge, we will cross it.
“Am not aware of any internal problems in the PDP. No crisis whatsoever. PDP is one big family; we shall all be together as brothers and sisters.
“Definitely, we have nothing against whatever the party will decide, but the zoning will not be against us.”
Meanwhile, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu has issued a strong warning to Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai and the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi over their recent outbursts following the Abuja-Kaduna train attack.
Recall El-Rufai and Amaechi in different statements after the attack seems to have engaged in blame trading on who is responsible for the security lapses that led to the attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train by bandit terrorists in which many lives were lost, some injured and others kidnapped.
While the submissions are viewed as an indictment of the federal government led by President Muhammadu Buhari and both men are strong chieftains of the ruling party, the APC chairman cautioned them against cutting their own bellies with knives.
