2023: Atiku Visits IBB In Minna, Reveals When He’ll Declare Presidential Ambition
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Tuesday visited former military president, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (IBB) at his Uphill residence in Minna, Niger State.
Naija News reports the two leaders held a closed-door meeting which lasted for about one hour.
Atiku later visited the Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani-Bello.
Speaking to newsmen after the meeting with Governor Bello, Atiku said he would declare his 2023 presidential ambition at the appropriate time but was only in the state on a courtesy call.
He added that he was in Niger to commiserate with the Governor over the recent killings in various communities in the state.
“I am on courtesy call that is all. In the 2023 Presidential election, I will let you know at the appropriate time, I will let you know at the appropriate time,” he said.
He described the security situation in Niger as very pathetic and unfortunate, calling for urgent action in curbing the situation.
He said: “I have just discussed the issue of insecurity with the Governor, it is a very pathetic situation. In fact, I got a very vivid picture of what is going on in Niger State from the governor. I mean, it is most unfortunate.”
Meanwhile, some thugs suspected to be sponsored by the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC have set fire on the Gombe state secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Reports obtained by Naija News on Tuesday confirmed that the building which is situated along Bachi road in the state was set ablaze on Monday night.
It was reported that the same group also set fire on Atiku House, burning documents, chairs and other valuables in the buildings.
A PDP supporter, Muntari Yau Kulsi who reportedly disclosed the development to SaharaReporters, said the office was set on fire at around 1:30 am.
According to him, the secretariat was up and running till 1:20 am when he left the office.
