2023 Igbo Presidency: Ohanaeze Unveils New Strategy For Election Victory

The Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has revealed its strategy to ensure that an Igbo man emerges as president of Nigeria in the coming 2023 general elections.

Reiterating that it is the turn of the South-East to lead the nation, the Igbo apex group said the best strategy was to interface between the South and Northern region.

The Southeast group stressed that building on the relationship that had existed between late Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe and his counterparts from the North, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa and Sir Ahmadu Bello will help in achieving a one Nigeria.

Naija News reports that the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide led by its Secretary-General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, on Monday visited Kaduna to meet the leadership of the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF).

Speaking after the meeting, Isiguzoro said Ndigbo understands that the North with its population always plays the role of kingmaker in Nigeria, hence it has met with traditional rulers and religious leaders in the region.

He added that the group is deploying the sum of N10bn to ensure that an Igbo man emerges as President of Nigeria in the 2023 general elections.

According to Isiguzoro, the Ohanaeze has mapped out N10bn to support any of the candidates that emerged from whichever party, be it APC or PDP.

Isiguzoro stated that the Ohanaeze Ndigbo decided to extend a hand of friendship to the North, believing that the relationship would give them a better result.

He stressed that Ndigbo has about N2.3 trillion worth of investments in the north and believes in one Nigeria.

According to him, the Igbo presidency is not something Nigerians should fight about in the dailies, but that they should dialogue with one another.

He stated that Nigerians should look at competent candidates, among the likes of Amaechi, Okorocha, Umahi, Peter Obi and others committed to serving Nigeria.

The Secretary-General was accompanied by Ogbonna Abasi, Ohanaeze Imo State President, Michael Agbo, FCT Chapter, Engineer Precious Okpara, Coordinator Northern State, Mazi Emmanuel, Niger State and Mazi Michael Ugwuanyi, Nasarawa State.
