2023: Orji Uzor Kalu Accused Of Anti-party Activities

Former Governor of Abia State and the Chief Whip of the Senate, Orji Uzor Kalu, has been accused of involvement in anti-party activities.

Naija News reports that a group known as Abia Rescue Movement made the accusation in a statement on Friday by its Coordinator, Onuoha Emezie.

The group accused Kalu of sponsoring the Action Peoples Party (APP) and causing disunity in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State.

It also claimed that Kalu, was behind several media attacks against the APC governorship candidate in the state, Ikechi Emenike, through proxies.

The group also alleged that the former Abia governor created APP to sponsor his brother’s governorship ambition, the allegation he denied months ago,

However, the group asked Kalu to choose between the APC and the APP which party he owed his loyalty to.

Meanwhile, ahead of the 2023 election, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Babatunde Gbadamosi has defected to the Labour Party (LP).

Gbadamosi, who disclosed the latest development in a statement on Friday, expressed displeasure over how the senatorial bye-election panned out after the event of EndSars.

However, his hope was rekindled following the emergence of Peter Obi as the presidential candidate of LP and his choice of Yusuf Baba-Ahmed as running mate.

Gbadamosi said he is still surprised at the kind of energy, vigour, unity and tenacity of purpose exhibited by youths for the former Governor of Anambra State.

He further said he had resigned his membership from PDP and subsequently declared support for the LP presidential flagbearer.
