2023: Oshiomhole Declares Senatorial Ambition
A former National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has officially declared his Senatorial ambition.
Oshiomhole made the declaration during his 70th birthday party at his country home, Iyamoh, on Monday, Naija News reports.
The former governor of Edo State disclosed that he would be contesting for the Edo North Senatorial seat under the platform of APC in 2023.
The Edo North Senatorial zone is currently being represented at the National Assembly by Senator Francis Alimikhena.
Meanwhile, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State on Monday received leading presidential aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to discuss the party’s zoning formula ahead of the 2023 General Elections.
The PDP aspirants include the Governors of Sokoto and Bauchi States, Aminu Tambuwal and Bala Mohammed respectively; former Senate President, Bukola Saraki and foremost economist, Alhaji Mohammed Hayatudeen, among others.
Receiving the visitors at the Government House in Benin City, Obaseki said the country was in dire need of a leader with the capacity to unite and rebuild the nation.
Earlier, Saraki, who spoke on behalf of others, said the visit was to canvas for the option to adopt a consensus candidate ahead of the 2023 general elections.
