2023: PDP NWC To Meet Gov Wike Next Week
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will meet with the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and other aggrieved members of the party.
The development was confirmed by the National Chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu on Friday.
According to a statement released by the Special Adviser on media and communications to Ayu, Simon Imobo-Tswam, the PDP Chairman revealed this when he led members of the NWC to visit the acting chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT), Adolphus Wabara.
Imobo-Tswam disclosed that the Deputy National Chairman (North) Iliya Damagun, will be leading other NWC members to meet with Governor Wike in Port Harcourt next week.
He further stated that it is the joint decision of the NWC members to reconcile with aggrieved members of the party.
The media aide quoted Ayu as saying there is time for anger and there is a time for the anger to stop.
Ayu called on Wabara to reach out to aggressive members and use his new office to heal the party ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Wike Mum On Outcome Of PDP NWC Meeting
The Rivers State Governor, Wike on Friday refused to react to the outcome of the PDP’s NWC meeting.
The National Chairman of the party, Ayu despite a call for his resignation from office, during the meeting, insisted on staying in office.
Naija News learnt that the development saw the Southern NWC members of the party stage a walkout on Ayu during the meeting.
