2023 Presidency: Omokri Reveals Osinbajo’s Only Hope To Get APC Ticket

Reno Omokri, a loyalist and ex-aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan has alleged Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s only hope to possibly emerge the flag-bearer of the All Progressives Congress at the party’s primary elections, Naija News reports.

Analysing the current tension in the APC ahead of the 2023 general elections, Omokri in a Twitter post on Thursday said there is no chance, however, for Osinbajo if the ruling party should adopt direct democratic free and fair primaries.

The book writer believes the likes of APC national leader, Bola Tinubu, Senate President, Ahmad Lawan and former Transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi, have a upper hand to become the party’s candidate for the 2023 election.

According to Omokri, Osinbajo’s only hope to become APC’s presidential flag-bearer is by a consensus candidacy.

His tweet reads: “I think by now it has dawned on Osinbajo that if APC primaries are by direct democratic free and fair primaries, he will be disgraced! He won’t even come second. It will be Tinubu first, and Amaechi or Lawan second. His only hope is a consensus candidacy. Am I lying?

Meanwhile, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Felix Morka has dismissed speculations indicating that the party is planning to zone its 2023 presidential ticket to the Northeast.

A report from Thisday had stated that the APC was working towards zoning its presidential ticket to the northeast, with the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan likely to emerge as its presidential candidate in the 2023 elections.

Many in the South who have been strident in calls for the presidential ticket to be zoned to the South after eight years of Buhari in the saddle are not likely to be amused by this evolving development,” the report published on Wednesday, May 18, stated.

However, the publicity secretary explained on Wednesday, that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC has not taken such a step.

There’s no such decision made by the National Working Committee,” Morka said.
