2023 Presidency: Veteran Music Star, Oligbese Sends Strong Message To Sowore
Veteran Nigerian musician, Oligbese has urged the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, Omoyele Sowore to support the people’s choice of candidate ahead of the forthcoming general elections setting to hold in 2023.
Naija News reports that the singer who stormed Ajegunle in the 90s to work with the likes of Baba Fryo, Daddy Showkey took to his social media on Sunday to appeal to the AAC presidential candidate.
According to Oligbese, which means the debtor in Yoruba language, presidency is not anyone’s birthright, adding that times have changed.
He further urged the AAC presidential candidate to join forces and support the masses’ candidate if truly he loves the country as he claims.
He also commended the presidential candidate for all the sacrifices he has done for the country.
He said, ”Sowore, if truly you love this country the way you claim, i think its time to join hands with the person the masses want let’s take back our country’. I respect you so much as you have done so much for this country. Presidency is not anyone’s birth right, work with the people if truly you love the country. This is not the time for fighting nor castigation”
Oligbese came into international stardom with his songs like “Kpamurege” in 2000’s, and “God Over Everything”. He is also known for his dress code, (a black cap, broadly written Oligbese 4Sale), which means “debtor for sale”.
