2023 Presidency: We Won’t Accept Any APC Consensus – Tinubu Group
A pro-Tinubu group has vowed to reject any consensus arrangement for the selection of the All Progressives Congress’ presidential candidate for the 2023 election.
The Chairman of the South-West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA), Senator Dayo Adeyeye, made this known on Friday while speaking to reporters after picking the APC presidential forms for the APC national leader, Bola Tinubu.
The SWAGA chairman urged the ruling APC to allow all aspirants to contest for the party’s 2023 presidential ticket and test their popularity at the primaries.
Adeyeye asserted that the APC national leader understands the diverse nature of the Nigerian economy and can tackle the insecurity in the country.
Tinubu will contest the APC presidential ticket with the likes of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State; Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige; Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State; Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, Senator Rochas Okorocha among others.
Meanwhile, Asiwaju Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after attending a lesser hajj also known as Umrah in Saudi Arabia.
Naija News learned that the former Lagos governor arrived in the country through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos State on Friday night.
Tinibu, who spent three days in Saudi Arabia for the Islamic ritual, was received at the Lagos airport by some of his supporters and associates.
