2023: Region Buhari Is Supporting To Produce Next Nigerian President Revealed

The Director-General of Voice of Nigeria (VON), Mr. Osita Okechukwu has claimed that President Muhammadu Buhari is throwing his weight behind the calls for a 2023 Igbo presidency.

He dropped the hint on Sunday while speaking with newsmen in Abuja, noting that the support for Igbo presidency comes with several benefits to the government, the people of the region, and Nigeria as a whole.

Okechukwu, who is also a well-known chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) however added that the President has not yet openly revealed his stand because of the activities of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The government official who observed that a 2023 Igbo presidency would bring to an end the agitations for secession and feeling of marginalization by the region, therefore, called on IPOB to drop its agitation and secession threats.

Apart from the President, the VON DG said other strong politicians from across the nation are also tactically supporting the emergence of a 2023 Igbo president.

He said: “Mr President and host of other Nigerians are silently in support of Nigeria president of Igbo extraction 2023 project, but are weary and reticent of IPOB stance. Therefore, in my little opinion, IPOB support of our project will kill two birds with one stone.”

“My understanding of IPOB agitation is to end Igbo marginalization. If that is the case then our 2023 Nigeria president of Igbo extraction will be the end of the civil war. Nigerians are waiting for IPOB to change gear.”

“I also appeal to IPOB to support Nigerian President of Igbo extraction 2023 project. I think IPOB support will kill two birds with one stone.

On the continued incarceration of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, Okechukwu said President Buhari must be commended for promising to consider the request by Igbo leaders for the unconditional release of the Biafra agitator.

“I join Ohaneze Ndigbo, Eminent Constitutional Lawyer and Chairman, Igbo Leaders of Thought, Prof Ben Nwabueze, and people of goodwill nationwide in commending President Muhammadu Buhari for accepting to consider the release of held leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB),” he said.
