2023: Sowore Officially Unveils Magashi As Running Mate
The Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, Omoyele Sowore, has officially unveiled Haruna Garba Magashi as his running mate.
Naija News reports that Sowore made the announcement on Thursday at the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
Sowore expressed optimism that his party will defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during next year’s presidential election.
He said that his running mate has what it takes to deliver Kano, his home state to the party and defeat Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
“We hope to defeat APC over there because the government has messed up; we know that we will defeat PDP, that’s the party that’s in crisis as we speak.
“We don’t need to talk about the Labour Party in Kano because the party doesn’t exist.
“We know that we will defeat Alhaji Kwankawso and his party, the NNPP in Kano because we have got someone who is from there.”
Recall that the AAC had earlier submitted Magashi’s name to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had fixed February 25, 2023 as the date for the presidential and national assembly elections, while the governorship and state house of assembly polls will take place on March 11, 2023.
