2023: Tinubu Camp Speaks On Composition of APC Presidential Campaign Council
The Tinubu Campaign Organisation (TCO) says that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) would soon constitute its presidential campaign council.
Naija News earlier reported that the conflict of interest among power brokers and stakeholders in the party on those who should be part of the council is largely responsible for the delay in the composition of the council.
It was also learned that the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu is wary of having saboteurs within the council.
Tinubu and his loyalists are trying to avoid a hijack of the process of the council composition.
A source who spoke to Dailytrust on the delay was quoted to have cited “unabated crisis, discordant tunes, selfishness and lack of internal democracy” in the APC as major reasons for the delay.
In an interview with The Punch, TCO’s Director of Media and Communications, Bayo Onanuga, said all interests are being taken care of in the composition of the campaign council.
Onanuga stated that all disgruntled presidential aspirants are being considered, adding that Tinubu has given those who are compiling the list the directive that everybody must be on board.
He said: “I suggest you wait for the composition of our campaign council. Everybody is there, and all interests are being taken care of.
“By the time the list is released, you will know that everybody is on board. We have a strategic committee that includes representatives from all parts of the country.
“The candidate has given those who are compiling the list the instruction that everybody must be on board. We have over 20 directorates, and each one will reflect the diversity of the country.”
