2023: Two Northern Governors Behind Jonathan’s Presidential Bid
Two Northern Governors have been fingered to be behind the presidential bid of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Naija News gathered that the two influential governors have secured the support of the presidency to draft Jonathan into the 2023 presidential race.
According to Daily Trust, one of the governors is from the North West, while the other is from the North East and the leaders have concluded plans to persuade the former president to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The two governors are said to be strong APC chieftains and have been playing key roles in the affairs of the ruling party in the last few years.
One of the governors’ agendas has been met after a Coalition of Northern Groups purchased the expression of interest and nomination forms of the APC for Jonathan.
The groups picked the forms on behalf of Jonathan at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja, on Monday evening.
Speaking with reporters after picking up the form, members of the coalition said Jonathan is the most qualified to take Nigeria to the next level in 2023.
Members of the coalition were spotted wearing face caps and t-shirts with the inscription ‘run Jonathan run’.
The purchase of the APC presidential form by Jonathan puts to rest speculation that he is plotting to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.
