2023: Vote For A Human Being With Conscience This Time – Peter Obi To Nigerians
The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has urged Nigerians to weigh him and other candidates so they could vote right in the 2023 election.
The former governor of Anambra State spoke today at the ongoing National Convention of the Assemblies of God Nigeria at Okpoto, Ebonyi State, Naija News understands.
Obi said it was time for Nigerians to vote right, hence they should consider voting for a human being with a conscience and trust, not just any candidate.
The presidential hopeful further said that citizens should not vote for candidates based on where they come from, the language they speak or their religion, but they should vote for competence.
He said, “Put all of us on a scale; let’s know who we are; let’s ask questions about who we are; let’s verify who we are.
”Don’t say: Because Peter Obi is from the South East, I will vote for him. Do not vote for me because I’m an Igbo man. Don’t vote for anybody because he is from the West. Do not vote for anybody because he’s from the North.
”This is time to vote for a human being who has conscience and trust.”
In another news earlier, popular lawyer, Ebun Adegbowura (SAN) urged Nigerians not to vote for the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 elections.
The SAN asserted that Atiku’s presidency is not what Nigeria needs at the moment as the former Vice President has shown too much desperation for power.
He accused the PDP of ‘throwing away’ its constitution and decency in order to accommodate the ambition of Atiku, Naija News reports.
The lawyer said both the PDP and Atiku showed disregard for the plurality of Nigeria by picking a candidate from the same region and religion as President Muhammadu Buhari who will be completing his 8-year-tenure in 2023.
Adegboruwa said the decision of Atiku to reject the popular decision of the PDP Committee set up to select his Vice-Presidential candidate has shown him to be an incurable dictator, who may be worse than Buhari if trusted with power.
Speaking further in an article shared on his Facebook page on Wednesday, the senior lawyer said Nigerians should “reject PDP and its leprous ticket.”
