Bayelsa Governor Diri Attends First FEC Meeting As Osinbajo, Fayemi, Others Welcome Him
The newly sworn governor of Bayelsa State Senator Douye Diri today, Thursday, February 27, 2020 attended his first Executive Council Meeting with other state governors in Abuja.
It’s his first FEC meeting since he was sworn in as Bayelsa State governor a few days ago.
The meeting was presided over by the Vice President Prof Yemi Osinbajo.
The photo of the meeting was shared by the official Twitter handle of Nigerian Government, where he was seen being welcomed by other state governors.
In the photo, the governor of Ekiti State Dr Kayode Fayemi, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other state governors were seen welcoming the new PDP governor who just won a turbulent legal battle at the Supreme Court.
Recall that on Wednesday, the Supreme Court threw out the case filed by the lawyers of All Progressive Congress and the David Lyon in Abuja.
Diri who had described his mandate as being miraculous who declared the winner by the Apex Court because the running mate and deputy governor of the Lyon was caught to have disparities in his names.
