2023: Fani-Kayode Reveals Region That Should Produce Buhari’s Successor

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Femi Fani-Kayode, has revealed the region that should produce the next President in 2023.

In an interview on Channels Television on Monday night, Fani-Kayode said the 2023 presidency should be zoned to the North Central or the South East.

The former critic of President Buhari stressed that both regions haven’t produced the country’s leader since independence, asking that the Middlebelt be allowed to produce the next President.

He asserted that the North Central has never had a democratically elected president or vice president, while the South East has had a democratically elected vice president.

If you insist on zoning, I believe it should go to a zone that has never had it before – the middle-belt has never had it, the south-east has never had it.

“The middle-belt has never had a democratically elected president, or a democratically elected vice president, while the eastern zone has had a democratically elected vice president,” he said.

When asked if he would like to see Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State becomes the next President, Fani-Kayode said the governor will be a great leader.

He said: “He is a great candidate. Governor Bello is my friend and it is a progressive thing for me.”

When asked about former Senate President and former Governor of Kwara State, Bukola Saraki, occupying the Aso Rock Villa, the former minister said Saraki is in the wrong party.
