Peace Mass Transit Paid Members of Staff Salaries on March, April and About to Pay May Without Making Any Single Kobo

On March 28, the management of Peace Mass Transit announced that they are winding down operation because of Covid 19 and the ban on Interstate movement.

So the buses have been lying idle ever since then and the company has not been making any income.

However, my Oga and the chairman of the company has been consistent in paying the salaries of his over 3,000 staff since that time that the company shut down.

He paid March, April and about to pay May without making any single Kobo and the staff idle at home.

For him, the people that were there for the business when the economy was good deserves everything especially in this difficult period that COVID 19 unleashed hardship and suffering on our people.

Regular payment of his staff salaries even without generating income is the chairman’s modest way of cushioning the devastating impact of the Chinese virus on his over 3,000 staff.

Instead of giving 1 billion to federal government for Corona virus palliative, it is better to invest the money on his staff because they made the money and it will make a much better impact than the applause of the public who will applaud him for donating money to Nigerian government.

At the last count, even when businesses are retrenching and sacking workers to stay afloat for no fault of theirs, Peace Mass Transit has not sacked anybody and not planning to sack in the nearest future.

Our faith in humanity is restored when our billionaire businessmen conduct their business with a human face and then treat their staff like human beings and that they matter especially in these difficult times and Dr Sam Onyishi(Onwa of Nsukka) is the poster boy for this and I’m proud.
