2023: Makinde Declares Interest For Second Term

The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde has expressed interest to contest in the 2023 governorship election.

The only Peoples Democratic Party Governor in the Southwest disclosed this on Thursday.

Makinde emerged as governor of Oyo State on the platform of PDP in 2019.

He defeated the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adebayo Adelabu and other governorship candidates to emerge as winner in 2019.

Makinde while expressing his intention to contest in 2023 said he had picked the expression of interest and nomination forms of the PDP.

According to Makinde, he would lead the people of Oyo State for another four years if he is elected by the people.

He said, “I announce that I have picked up the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for a second term as the elected Governor of the good people of Oyo State.

“If the good people of Oyo State desire it, we will serve for four more years.”
