Wizkid Didn’t Fulfill His Contract With EME – Banky W Reveals
Popular Nigerian singer cum politician, Bankole Wellington, professionally knowns as Banky W has revealed how Grammy Award winner, Wizkid failed to fulfil his contract agreement while under the EME label.
Banky W in a recent interview with Big Brother Naija host, Ebuka Uchendu, disclosed that Wizkid promised to produce five albums when he was signed to his record label.
He further stated that Wizkid, however, produced only two albums before he left the EME.
According to Banky W, Wizkid wanted to leave and he does not like forcing someone to stay because it would create animosity and resentment.
He said, “Wizkid was supposed to do 5 albums but he had done 2 solo albums. I think he wanted to leave and for him, that was enough.
“I did not want anyone to stay when they want to leave cause that would create animosity and resentment.”
Banky W, however, noted that he has a cordial relationship with Wizkid and he did not force the Grammy winner to stay on the label to avoid resentment.
He added, “No, I didn’t try to talk him out of it because I could tell mentally that he was ready to do other things and for me, I always felt some things are meant to happen for a season and that was the season we were meant to be.”
Wizkid was signed to EME in 2009 but left in 2019.
