Breaking: Liverpool Extends Jurgen Klopp’s Contract Till 2026

German professional football coach, Jurgen Klopp has reportedly come to terms with Liverpool to extend his stay till 2026.

The 56-year-old tactician’s current contract with the Reds expires in 2024, Naija News understands.

Klopp has been remarkable since he joined Liverpool from Borussia Dortmund in 2025.

He has helped the club to win the English Premier League title and Champions League respectively.

Reports had it that the president of Fenway Sports Group and influential in the running of the club, Mike Gordon, was a key player in the negotiation to nail the recent deal.

Gordon was live at Anfield on Wednesday to watch Liverpool’s Champions League semi-final first leg match against Villarreal.

He was spotted near Klopp’s agent Mark Kosicke. It could be recalled that the affluent man was also key to negotiating Klopp’s last contract extension in December 2019.

No doubt, Klopp has proved his dexterity and Gordon will want to see what he says as long as he could.

Klopp has helped Liverpool to a sixth Champions League triumph, a first-ever FIFA Club World Cup triumph and ended a 30-year wait to be crowned champions of England, Naija News understands.

The Reds boss admitted in February his enthusiasm had waned last season following a campaign behind closed doors, stating: “I couldn’t have cared less at that moment, just get through it and that is abundant managers be different? But for all of us,t was the same. We were all like really drained. Just finished. Done.”

The German had in March this year spoken about the possibility of his further stay with Liverpool.

If I have the energy levels for it,” Klopp said during an interview.

That is important. I love what I do but I’ve said a couple of times there must be something else out there in the world, to be honest, apart from always thinking about properly skilled, good-looking, fantastically nice football players,” he said then.
