Templegate’s Grand National ante-post tip is jumping out at 22-1 after entries for 2024 race revealed

TEMPLEGATE has scoured all 94 entries for April’s Grand National and picked out a runner that at this stage screams value.

The initial entries were revealed yesterday and there is a record showing from the Irish squads.

Trainer Brassil won the 2006 National with NumbersixvalverdesTimes Newspapers Ltd

Although Willie Mullins’ Gaillard Du Mesnil, who finished third last year, was one big name missing.

This year’s contest will look different to previous years, with six fewer runners and a new, earlier start time.

You can find all about the entries and changes to the National here.

But now for Templegate’s all-important tip…

Templegate’s Grand National 2024 tip

We don’t have the all-important Grand National weights yet but we do have the entries and a solid each-way bet is jumping out.

Panda Boy comes from Martin Brassil who won the great race with Numbersixvalverde back in 2006.

Only one of his six National runners finished worst than sixth so he’s highly reliable – especially in these days of extra places.

Panda Boy is taking the route of many Irish horses and has been running over hurdles to keep his handicap mark decent.

Numbersixvalverde did the same thing and this eight-year-old ran a really good race when fourth at the Dublin Racing Festival on Saturday.

He looked like he might win until being outpaced for half a furlong then running on strongly to be just over two lengths off the winner.

He was fifth in the Irish National in April and he should sneak in near the bottom of the weights for Aintree.

The bookies can’t quite make up their mind with Coral making him second best at 16-1 but the 22-1 on offer with Bet365 makes appeal each-way.
