BREAKING: Goodluck Jonathan Gets N100m APC Presidential Form
Former President Goodluck Jonathan has picked up the presidential nomination and expression of interest form of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Naija News learned that a Coalition of Northern groups picked up the presidential form on behalf of the former Nigerian leader on Monday at the International Conference Centre in Abuja.
Speaking with reporters after picking up the form, members of the coalition said Jonathan is the most qualified to take Nigeria to the next level in 2023.
Members of the coalition were spotted wearing face caps and t-shirts with the inscription ‘run Jonathan run’.
The purchase of the APC presidential form by Jonathan puts to rest speculation that he is plotting to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to the constitution, Jonathan, who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, can only serve for one term of four years if elected as President again.
Recall that some supporters of the former Nigerian leader had stormed his private office in Abuja to demand that he declares for the 2023 presidency.
Addressing the demonstrators, Jonathan said that the political process is ongoing, adding that he can’t tell them if he would be declaring or not for the 2023 presidential race.
Following the development, Jonathan joins a long list of APC members ready to battle it out for the ruling party’s presidential ticket.
With the purchase of the APC presidential form, Jonathan has joined Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, Jigawa Governor Abubakar Badaru, Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Minister of State for Education Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, Pastor Tunde Bakare, Senator Rochas Okorocha, Ebonyi Governor David Umahi and Senator Ken Nnamani in getting the form ahead of the ruling party’s primaries.
