APC Primaries: Senator Omo-Agege Wins Guber Ticket In Delta

The Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege, has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2023 Gubernatorial ticket in Delta State.

Omo-Agege won massively at the party’s primaries held today at the premises of the Federal College of Education (FCE), Asaba, Naija News understands.

The lawmaker emerged as the sole aspirant in the primaries polling a total of 1,190 votes. He returned unopposed by a total of 1,235 accredited delegates of the party.

The Deputy Senate President’s victory was confirmed on Thursday evening by the APC Returning Officer, Mrs Oyibo Nwaneri.

Reacting to his victory, Omo-Agege expressed joy over the smooth conduct of the primaries and thanked his supporters and the entire APC family in Delta.

He said: “Today, the APC in Delta has spoken with one voice. We may have had our differences in the past, but we have been able to reconcile ourselves.

“With my emergence as the party flagbearer for the 2023 governorship in Delta, the APC is very determined to take over the reign of affairs in Delta.

“And we are prepared to achieve that with the support of our members and the people of Delta.”

Meanwhile, the former lawmaker representing Rivers South-East district in the upper chamber, Magnus Abe has debunked reports that he has dumped the All Progressives Congress.
According to Abe, he will contest the Rivers State governorship election in 2023.

Abe stated this while reacting to some reports that he had dumped the ruling party to pursue his governorship ambition elsewhere.
