What Shehu Sani Said About Abaribe Dumping PDP For APGA
Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani has reacted to the defection of the former Senate Minority Leader, Eyinnaya Abaribe from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Naija News had earlier reported that the lawmaker dumped the PDP and resigned as the Senate Minority Leader before joining the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in his ward in Abia State.
While confirming his defection to APGA on Friday, Abaribe said he has dropped his governorship ambition and would instead be seeking re-election into the Senate on the platform.
The former Abia Deputy Governor said he will be participating in the party’s senatorial primaries on Saturday.
Reacting to the development, Senator Sani said Abaribe’s resignation from the PDP is a serious setback to the opposition party.
He described Abaribe as an outstanding lawmaker and a strong voice for justice, equity and accountable governance.
Speaking further, the governorship aspirant said it is unfortunate that the issues in Abia State could not be solved amicably.
He wrote: “Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe’s reported resignation from the PDP is a serious setback to the opposition. He is an outstanding lawmaker and a strong voice for justice, equity and accountable governance.
“It’s unfortunate that the Abia issues couldn’t be solved amicably.”
