2023 Presidency: Shehu Sani Mocks APC Over Confusion On Consensus Candidate

The confusion trailing the activities of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in a bid to choose its 2023 presidential candidate has attracted a reaction from former Kaduna Central lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani.

Sani in a Twitter post on Tuesday, mocked the APC and its National Chairman Abdullahi Adamu after the confusion that greeted his announcement of Senate President Ahmad Lawan as the party’s consensus presidential candidate.

Naija News recalls after the announcement, President Muhammadu Buhari had debunked endorsing Lawan contrary to claims by the APC National Chairman.

Similarly, the state Governors, as well as the National Working Committee of the party, have denied endorsing Lawan.

Reacting, Sani stated that the APC has now moved from storms (under Adams Oshiomhole) to turbulence (under Abdullahi Adamu).

He wrote: “From Adams storms to Adamu’s turbulence.”

He however added the importance of the position of a party’s National Chairman as all official communications to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) won’t be accepted without his signature.

“The position of the National Chairman of a party is so crucial that INEC only accept a letter signed by him. No intra party war or peace is possible without him.”
