2023: Omokri States Position On Muslim-Muslim Ticket, Tackles Osinbajo
Social commentator and former presidential media aide, Reno Omokri has added his voice to the controversies and discussions surrounding the possible emergence of a Muslim-Muslim ticket for the 2023 presidency in Nigeria.
Omokri who made his mind known via a Twitter statement on Saturday afternoon submitted that what Nigeria needs is a reliable government and not a religious government.
He argued that if the government performs as expected, Nigerians will not even remember the religious inclination of the leaders.
Omokri also tackled Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, questioning his role in representing and protecting Christians in Nigeria at the moment.
He wrote: “Having a Muslim-Christian ticket does not balance Nigeria. The government we have now is Muslim-Christian. Look at how imbalanced Nigeria is. Did Osinbajo represent or protect Christians well? What Nigeria needs is a reliable government, not a religious government!
“Unknown to many Nigerians both Gowon and his vice (Admiral Wey) are Christians. Yet, they were loved in the core Muslim North, because they provided peace, security and progress. They proved that if Nigerians see a performing government, they will forget religion!”
