Luke Littler on course to smash amazing darts record in his first season and could even achieve never-before-seen feat

LUKE LITTLER is on course to smash the annual 180 record by hitting 1,000 in a year making him almost UNBEATABLE.

The 17-year-old has already hit 600 maximums in 2024 on the way to winning nine titles in just nine months.

‘The Nuke’ is top of the current Professional Darts Corporation form guide, ahead of Scotland’s Cameron Menzies and former Masters champ Chris Dobey.

World Champion Luke Humphries is down in eighth.

The guide is based on the last 200 legs played and Littler is flying high after taking the World Series finals title and Players Championship within 72 hours.

But his 180 record is astounding at almost DOUBLE of any other top professional.

Now the teen sensation could overtake Michael Smith’s record tally of 714 maximums in one year.

PDC Stats Analyst Christopher Kempf said: “With 115 maxima in 200 legs, Luke Littler is continuing to make his debut season an unprecedented display of scoring virtuosity.

“One week on the Players Championship circuit saw the teenager throw 49 maxima; with nearly 600 180s thrown thus far in 2024, Littler is on course to become the first player to have 1,000 such visits in a year.

“His current Form Guide-topping 115 visits of 180 is double the output of the majority of PDC pros over the same period, and is the highest ever recorded in Form Guide history.

“Historically, scoring in this fashion has not been strongly correlated with winning matches or tournaments, but Littler’s 15 consecutive match wins make it clear that scoring of this magnitude makes a player almost unbeatable.”

World No9 Australian Damon Heta is also in blistering form as the doubles king of the oche.

Inside Littler’s massive rise

LUKE LITTLER has taken the darts world by storm since exploding onto the scene at the PDC World Championship at the beginning of the year.

The Nuke reached the final on his Ally Pally debut at just 16 years of age – smashing records along the way.

He has then gone on to win a host of PDC events and the Premier League title – which he claimed at the O2 Arena by beating world champion Luke Humphries in May.

He also finished his first season in the World Series as the No1 ranked player.

He has joined Jude Bellingham on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe list.

And the teenage titan even had to snub an invite from the WWE.

The Sun exclusively revealed that Littler is plotting to create a fitness empire.

He is also cashing in away from the Oche thanks to an Instagram side hustle.

And he’s even the face of a brand new cereal.

But he is newly single after splitting from girlfriend Eloise Milburn following a 10-month relationship.

Kempf added: “Another player making Form Guide history is Damon Heta, the first player of the Tour Card era to hit a majority of his doubles in his last 200 legs.

“His 50.2 checkout percentage is so far ahead of MvG (in the #2 position) that the Aussie is hitting nearly one additional double for every 20 attempts than the Dutch No1.

“Against Gerwyn Price on Wednesday, Heta couldn’t miss, completing checkouts of 65, 84, 84, 101, 110 and 133, hitting six out of six doubles with the last dart in hand.

“Yet even this level of accuracy gives lie to the adage ‘doubles for dough’, as Heta, while enjoying the most clinical finishing of his career, has only two PDC titles to his name this year while Littler, currently ranked #41 in the PDC for his 38.7 per cent checkout percentage, has nine.”
