Beach Volleyball 1st Phase Tour Kicks Off In Yola
All is now set for the Beach Volleyball tour organised by the Nigeria Beach Volleyball Commission.
The “Beach Volleyball Tour” will officially kick off in Yola, Adamawa state will be the first phase of the tour.
According to a statement signed by Famous Daunemigha, Chairman Media and Publicity of Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), the first phase of the Beach Tour will serve off from 5th to 9th July, 2022 in Yola, Adamawa State.
The statement further revealed that in compliance with the regular Beach Volleyball (BVB) Regulations, participating teams must complete three phases of the tours.
The South-South representative on the board of NVBF said the tour is to improve the standard of the game in the country.
“The Nigeria Beach Volleyball Commission has approved the hosting of the Beach Volleyball Tour (first phase) in Yola, Adamawa State which starts tomorrow while arrival of teams is today.”
He added that “for some years, the beach volleyball commission has consistently hosted 1 national beach volleyball championship and we feel it has become necessary to have more national championships”.
“In the last two Olympic Beach Volleyball Qualifiers, Nigeria women’s team have always narrowly lost the slot in the finals and we do not want a repeat of this in the future”
“The board believes with the beach volleyball tours, the level and standard of beach volleyball will improve exponentially in the country”.
Meanwhile, the stage is now set in Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola venue of the Beach Volleyball tour.
Speaking to Journalists in Yola, the chairman Adamawa State Volleyball Association, DCP Stephen Hasso retired, said the association in collaboration with the state Polytechnic who has provided the venue is working round the clock to meet the requirements.
“As you can see the technical crew has almost completed their job, the Director of Sports Mrs. Esther Dominic is also doing her best to see we have a successful hosting.”
“The President of the Volleyball Federation, Engr. Nimrod Musa has been very helpful, he has given us the needed support.”
