Amidst Criticism, Funke Akindele Pulls Mammoth Crowd As She Storms Her FatherLand
Nollywood actress and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) deputy governorship candidate, Funke Akindele pulled a massive crowd of supporters on Tuesday when her party stormed, Ikorodu, Lagos State.
This is coming amid the criticisms and backlash Funke had received from some quarters after officially announcing her new political appointment.
Taking to her Instagram page, Funke said she and Jandor including members of PDP were received with warmth and joy in her fatherland, Ikorodu.
The video shows a large crowd which comprises men, women and youths singing, jubilating and showing off the campaign posters of Funke and Jandor.
She captioned the video: “We were welcomed with warmth and joy in Ikorodu, my father-land as Dr Azeez Olajide Adediran #Jandor officially unveiled me as the PDP Deputy Governorship Candidate of Lagos State.”
Naija News earlier reported that Funke in her speech expressed concern about the plight of the less fortunate especially the youths, which drove her strong passion to help and assist in governance.
According to her, accepting the PDP deputy gubernatorial nomination is a huge personal sacrifice, stating that no sacrifice is too much for the actualisation of the urgent mission to rescue Lagosians.
