2023: Moghalu Announces Decision, Says Many Political Parties Have Approached Him To Be Their Presidential Candidate
Former African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Kingsley Moghalu has disclosed that many political parties have approached him to be their presidential candidate for the 2023 election.
Moghalu made the disclosure on Thursday in a statement via his Twitter handle, noting that some others approached him to be the running mate to their candidate.
He however added that as much as he is honoured and humbled by the invitations, the initial decision to withdraw from contesting the 2023 presidential election remains in place.
The former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) promised to continue to serve Nigeria in other capacities as the country needs everyone.
He wrote: “I am truly honored and grateful to all the Nigerian political parties that have approached and offered me the opportunity to be their presidential candidate or otherwise be on their presidential tickets for the 2023 election. It is truly humbling to see the level of appreciation for my contributions to our country’s politics and nation-building.
As difficult as it has been to respectfully decline all these offers, I am at peace with my decision upon serious reflection following resignation from my previous political party not to be on the ballot in 2023.
I will continue to serve. Nigeria needs us all.”
