#OsunDecides: Atiku Reacts As INEC Declares Adeleke Winner
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar has congratulated the governorship candidate of the party in Osun State, Ademola Adeleke over his victory in the just concluded election.
Naija News had earlier reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday declared Adeleke as the winner.
Adeleke defeated the candidate of the All Progressives Congress and incumbent governor of the state, Gboyega Oyetola.
The incumbent governor of the state who was defeated in the election gathered 375,027 votes, while Adeleke polled 403,371 votes to win the election.
Adeleke won 17 local government areas in the state, while the candidate of the APC, Oyetola won the remaining 13 local government areas in the state.
Atiku in a post on his Twitter account on Sunday also congratulated the people of Osun State for proving that power belongs to the people.
The PDP presidential candidate wrote, “Light has come to Osun. Congratulations, Sen. @AAdeleke_01, on a well-fought victory. Also, hearty congratulations to the @OfficialPDPNig family and all stakeholders who came together to make this possible.
“Most importantly, congratulations to the great people of Osun State for proving that power indeed belongs to the people.”
