President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday, departed Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, after attending the Joint Arab-Islamic Summit on the Middle East.

The Nigerian leader was seen off at the airport by top officials of the Nigerian government and those of the host country.

Naija News recalls that during his participation in the summit, President Tinubu called for an end to Israeli aggression in Gaza, warning that the conflict in Palestine has persisted for far too long, inflicting immeasurable suffering.

Addressing the extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit, convened to address the current situation in the Middle East, President Tinubu expressed deep concern on the humanitarian conditions in Gaza.

The one-day summit was a follow-up to the Riyadh summit last year, and was attended by Heads of State and Government of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the League of Arab States.

Meanwhile, former APC presidential aspirant, Charles Udeogaranya has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s participation in the Arab-Islamic Summit, describing it as a “gross misconduct of the Nigerian Constitution.”

According to Udeogaranya, Nigeria’s secular status means the President’s actions are inappropriate and constitute an impeachable offence.

Vanguard noted that Udeogaranya claimed that Tinubu’s representation of Nigeria at the summit not only violated the nation’s constitutional values but also grievously disparaged the Nigerian people and its Constitution.

Udeogaranya stressed that Nigeria, while religiously diverse, is not aligned with Arab affairs.
