Gerwyn Price says he would SNUB return to major darts tournament even if he’s invited after difficult year
GERWYN PRICE says he would TURN DOWN the Premier League even if it was offered.
The 17-week tournament, which starts on February 6, looks set for a shake-up with regulars Price and Peter Wright out of form and unlikely to feature.

It could even be without a Welsh star for the first time since 2018 and Scottish player since 2011.
Luke Littler won on his debut earlier this year but next season could include a new face in Mike De Decker after he won the World Grand Prix.
Price, 39, told Sky Sports’ Polly James at an exhibition on Thursday night: “It’s been a really tough year for me, especially the Premier League.
“I’m not sure about Premier League next year, don’t think I’d even accept it if I get in anyway. I just want to concentrate on ranking events.
“I’ve been practising really well the last couple of weeks but as soon as you get on stage, it just doesn’t happen.
“That’s just because of having no confidence.
“But I’ve been in positions where I’ve played well all year and then rubbish in the World Championships so fingers crossed it’s the other way around.”
Price missed the recent Grand Slam, his most successful tournament in the past.

He added: “Sometimes it’s nice to have a break, but on the other hand, I like to use my games as my practice because I’m not a huge practiser.
“Having three weeks off before the Players Championship didn’t help. I don’t practise as much in the house as I should.
“Jonny Clayton lives miles away so I haven’t really got anyone to play against.”
The Premier League will automatically feature the top four in the world. That currently means Luke Humphries, Luke Littler, Michael van Gerwen and Rob Cross in those slots.
Then there are four wild card picks from Sky Sports and the PDC.
Usually a player who has won a major title the previous year has the better chance of getting a place, that would include De Decker and UK Open champ Dimitri Van den Bergh. Ritchie Edhouse was also a shock winner of the European Championship.
