2023: Okowa, Ortom Appeal To Wike Over PDP Crisis
The Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, has appealed to the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, to allow reconciliation following the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The vice presidential candidate of the main opposition made this call while addressing newsmen after a closed-door meeting with the Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom.
Okowa met with Governor Ortom at the Benue state government lodge in Asokoro, Abuja, on Friday.
The running mate to the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, noted that the reconciliation meeting was delayed because of Governor Wike’s trip abroad.
Okowa further stated that Atiku and the party leadership will do everything possible to reconcile with Wike ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
The Governor of Benue State, on his part, called on the party leadership and its presidential candidate to meet with Wike for reconciliation.
Ortom further stated that he is fully behind the reconciliation move of the main opposition party with Wike.
He noted that the reconciliation is in the interest of the party as all hands must be on deck ahead of the 2023 general elections.
This is coming after Wike accused Atiku of lying while addressing newsmen in Port Harcourt on Friday.
