Ogbunka elders have embarked on a peaceful protest at the Anambra state Government House Awka to demand for a free and fair Igweship election in the community in order to enthrone peace and harmony in the town.
The elders led by the Chairman Ogbunka Igwe’s Cabinet, Chief Christian Ifeanacho was accompanied by the President General of the community, Mr Emmanuel Okolo, men and women of the community, and as well the youths who were seen with placards with inscriptions that revealed their grievances.
The inscriptions on the placards revealed that the people are demanding for Dr Forster Ihejiofor as their Traditional Ruler against Mr Johnmark Anyaoha who according to them was allegedly imposed on the community as their traditional ruler few weeks ago by some government officials.
The Chairman of the Ogbunka Igwe’s Cabinet, Chief Ifeanacho and the President General of the community, Mr Okolo called on Anambra state government to conduct an election for both parties and allow members of the community to make their choices among the two.
