Breaking: Court Nullifies APC Governorship Primary In Taraba

The Governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State has been nullified by a Federal High Court sitting in Jalingo.

The electoral process of the APC had produced Emmanuel Bwacha as its flagbearer in the 2023 governorship election.

An aggrieved aspirant in the party, David Kente had approached the court filing a suit against APC for recognising Bwacha as the candidate of the party in Taraba State.

The presiding judge, Justice Simon Amobeda in his ruling on Tuesday directed the party to conduct a fresh primary election within 14 days.

Bwacha was also ordered by the court to stop parading himself as the governorship candidate of the APC.

Zamfara PDP Governorship Primary Election Nullified

The Zamfara State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary election conducted in May 2022 has also been declared null.

A ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Gusau, last Friday cancelled the processes that produced Dauda Lawan Dare as the party’s flag-bearer for the 2023 general elections, Naija News reports.

The court ruling came to be following a prayer by the counsel plaintiffs, Barrister Ibrahim Aliyu.

Presiding over the suit, the court judge, Justice Aminu Bappa explained that the court granted all the prayers of the plaintiffs and cancelled the election of Dauda Lawan Dare as the party’s flag bearer for the 2023 general elections.
