2023: PRP Speaks On Kola Abiola Dumping Presidential Ambition
The People’s Redemption Party (PRP) says there is no truth in some reports claiming its presidential candidate, Kola Abiola has withdrawn from the 2023 race.
The party in a statement on Monday by Muhammed Ishaq, on behalf of the Publicity Directorate, said members of the public should disregard the report as it is totally false.
It emphasized that Abiola and his running mate, Haro Zego, are still very much in the race and fully committed to the task of saving Nigeria.
“The attention of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has been drawn to a report in circulation that our presidential candidate, Mr Kola Abiola is set to withdraw from the 2023 race.
“The report is entirely an unfounded falsehood. We call on Nigerians to disregard the report.
“We would also like to assure our members, supporters and the general public that the PRP presidential candidate, Mr Kola Abiola and his running mate, Haro Zego, are fully in the 2023 presidential race to win.
“Our candidate is prepared to provide the leadership which Nigeria needs at this critical time,” the statement reads.
Obi Will Struggle In 2023
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dele Momodu, has said the 2023 Presidency is between his party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and his counterpart in the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu.
Momodu, who was recently appointed as the Director of Strategic Communications of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, said this on Monday during an appearance on Channels Television
Momodu said the presidential flagbearer of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, does not have what it takes to compete with Atiku and Tinubu in the forthcoming polls.
The veteran journalist said Obi will struggle to get votes in the South West despite his popularity among the youths, adding the support by the youths cannot make the next President.
