APC Keeps Mum On Release Of Newly-harmonised List Of Campaign Council
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has refused to release the names of members in the newly-harmonised list of the Presidential Campaign Council.
Recall that the 422-man campaign council released by the party had caused disaffection among the APC National Working Committee (NWC) and the governors of the party.
After series of meeting, the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, alongside other party stakeholders agreed to include more names to the council in order to appease aggrieved members.
In a chat with The Punch on Tuesday, the Director of Media and Publicity for the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, Bayo Onanuga, said President Muhammadu Buhari would inaugurate the council on Friday.
He also stated that Buhari, who is also the Chairman of the campaign council, would launch Tinbu’s manifesto on Friday at the State House.
He, however, declined to speak on the choice of venue to kick off the party’s campaign rally and notable names in the newly-harmonised list of campaign council.
“Both the campaign council and the manifesto will be launched on Friday. But I don’t have details on the other questions you raised,” he stated.
Recall that the Spokesman for the Presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo, had said that a ‘region’ had been selected to launch the campaign but failed to disclose more information.
He had said, “We have agreed on the region to begin the campaign but I am not going to say that now. We have also addressed all the basic issues because we want to carry the leaders of the party along.
“For now, no date has been chosen (for PCC inauguration). But we will announce that sooner than you think.”
