How Tinubu’s Presidency will Benefit Healthcare Sector
As the presidential election draws nearer, it is only natural for Nigerians to begin to carefully consider who their candidate is going to be. As a country, Nigeria has challenges waiting to be addressed. One of the sectors that are affected is the health sector. This means that we need someone who understands the complexity of healthcare in order to solve the challenges therein.
The presidential candidate for the All Progressive Congress (APC), Ahmed Bola Tinubu has declared himself the man for the job. He has promised that if elected, he will give adequate attention and improve the nation’s healthcare sector. According to his memorandum, he is set to increase budgetary allocation to the health sector from an annual proportion of 6.5% presently to over 10%.
He is determined to create new networks of local clinics and dispensaries providing primary health care and drugs for citizens. He is also set to introduce policies that will address the anomaly in the healthcare sector. He intends to put a stop to a situation where the rich and certain categories of public officers will travel abroad for medical treatment, leaving behind the masses in our dilapidated health system.
These challenges of the healthcare sector are so many and range from the workforce to infrastructure, human resources, and health issues. Indeed, addressing these challenges requires somebody who has the capability, and the courage also understands the passion and need for the health sector and is ready to give his full commitment and support.
Former two-term governor, Bola Tinubu prides himself on handling similar issues. During his tenure as governor of Lagos state, he did a number of interesting things in the health sector of the state. As a result, Lagos State’s health sector was number one in the country, and it still is. Tinubu is determined to replicate these giant strides if elected as the president of this great nation in 2023.
Bola Tinubu is one person that has proven to possess sound leadership qualities, attributes, and competence. On this note, I want to employ every well-meaning Nigerian to vote for the man that is most likely to address issues in the country and bring about change. It is no doubt that Nigeria, at a time like this, needs the combined administrative acumen and political experience of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
