EPL: Chelsea Defender, Rudiger Gets Mouthwatering Offer To Leave Club

German professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Chelsea, Antonio Rudiger has reportedly been offered a mouthwatering £400,000-a-week deal to exit the club.

Naija News understands the likes of Juventus, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are all hunting for the 28-year-old.

Premier League counterparts, Manchester United and Tottenham are also reported to be interested in getting Rudiger sign for them.

While the defender is estimated to cost around £70million, Real Madrid are reportedly leading the race to shop for the German player.

Naija News understands that Rudiger’s current contract with Chelsea ends next summer and the player would hence be free to talk and reach a contract agreement with foreign clubs from January.

Chelsea is said to have made efforts to convince the German to extend his stay with the club, offering him around £140,000-a-week but the defender feel he deserves a much bigger salary on par with the club’s highest earners.

A Daily Mail report, however, claimed that Rudiger may slip off from the Blues as his suitors are prepared to offer him as much as £400,000-a-week including bonuses and add-ons.

Meanwhile, the English Premier League on Thursday postponed the clash between Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton scheduled for Sunday.

The match was cancelled due to a COVID-19 outbreak at the north London club.

Naija News had earlier reported that the club manager, Antonio Conte, on Wednesday confirmed that eight players and five staff members have tested positive for Coronavirus.

The development saw UEFA cancel their match against Rennes in the Europa tournament on Thursday.

A statement released by the club confirmed that the weekend’s fixture at Brighton will also not go ahead.
