Osun: Davido Declares Senator Adeleke Incoming Governor Despite His Cousin’s Interest
Popular Nigerian musician, David Adeleke, also known as Davido has thrown his weight behind his uncle, Ademola Adeleke to emerge as the next Governor of Osun State.
This is coming after it was reported that the singer’s cousin, Dele Adeleke picked up a nomination form to contest in the 2022 Osun governorship election
Naija News understands that Adeleke picked a running ticket under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the same party as his uncle, Senator Adeleke.
Dele was at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja earlier on Friday (today), to pick the party’s expression of interest and nomination forms for the gubernatorial primaries for the sum of N21 million.
Davido in reaction to the development took to Instagram story to share video of his uncle campaigning for the 2018 election and described him as the incoming Governor of Osun State.
Recall that Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress defeated Adeleke in 2018 after a supplementary election was conducted.
