Chelsea’s Lukaku Told To Apologize Over ‘I Will Soon Go Back To Inter Milan’ Comment

Belgian professional footballer, Romelu Lukaku has been told to apologise to Chelsea fans for’ disrespecting’ them.

Naija News recalls that 28-year-old Lukaku returned to Stamford Bridge this year after his departure a decade ago.

Lukaku since his return has only scored seven goals in 18 appearances for the Blues this season.

The Belgian, however, started receiving backlash after he publicly declared that he wanted to go back to Inter Milan shortly.

Former England stars, Trevor Sinclair and Darren Bent have both perceived Lukaku’s comment to be insulting to Blues manager, Thomas Tuchel whom the Belgian said he didn’t enjoy playing under.

Bent noted that the former Man United star could be on his way back to Italy already.

Lukaku who Chelsea threw up the sum of £97 million for his return has been told he ‘disrespected’ Chelsea and should immediately apologize.

Sinclair told talkSPORT: “I’m in absolute shock for him to come out with those comments, I think he should be apologizing to the Chelsea fans. That’s so disrespectful to the Chelsea fans.

“I think that’s so disrespectful to the Chelsea manager. I’d be astounded if he hadn’t had a conversation with Thomas Tuchel about this.

“I think it’s disrespectful to his teammates and I think it’s disrespectful to the owner.”

Bent added, “Some of the quotes are just crazy.

“One of the quotes where he says he hopes to return to Inter Milan and not at the end of his career, while he’s at his peak still. That could be soon! He’s not getting any younger. It is a bombshell.

“But to be so public about it, that’s a hammer blow for Chelsea Football Club.”

Naija News reports that Lukaku is expected to sort out issues about the controversial interview while he prepare for Chelsea’s next game against rival Liverpool.

The ongoing English Premier League campaign is becoming quite competitive as clubs performances drop and rise at intervals.

Chelsea will battle Liverpool on Sunday to contend for second place behind leading Manchester City.

While Liverpool would hope to bounce back from the 1-0 defeat to Leicester City earlier in the week, Chelsea would also hope to return to winning ways after a frustrating 1-1 draw with Brighton on Wednesday.
