AFCON 2021 Top Goal Scorers After Match Day 2

African players are already proving their prowess in the ongoing African Cup of Nation, AFCON 2021 tournament.

While the game is about to enter into its day three in the group stage matches, some of the players are already competing for the golden boot by netting goals in different matches to earn their side victories.

Naija News understands that Cameroon captain, Vincent Aboubakar, is currently leading the AFCON 2021 goal chart with four goals from the matches already played.

Aboubakar had netted two goals for his home country against Burkina Faso and another two in their match against Ethiopia.

His team-mate, Karl Toko Ekambi, and Malawi’s Gabadinho Mhango are his closest challengers with two goals each, Naija News reports.

The likes of Nigeria’s professional players, Kelechi Iheanacho (Leicester City), Samuel Chukwueze (Villareal), Taiwo Awoniyi (Union Berlin),  Mosen Simon (Nantes) have all scored a goal each in different matches.

Senegal talisman Sadio Mane (Liverpool) and his English Premier League team-mate Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) also have netted a goal each for their home country.

Ghana national team captain, Andre Ayew who plays for the Qatar side, Al Sadd is not left out in the list of goal scorers as he also has scored one for his home side as he hopes to push them to the next stage of the competition.
