APC: Buni Visits Buhari In London (Photos)
The embattled Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), Governor Mai Mala Buni has visited President Muhammadu Buhari in London, UK.
The visit comes amidst the leadership crisis and controversy surrounding the affairs of the APC.
It will be recalled that Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State had last week stormed the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, declaring himself the acting Caretaker Chairman of the party.
He added that he has the blessing of President Buhari and 19 state governors to take over the leadership of the party.
Shortly after, Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai affirmed the same position, declaring that Governor Buni who is away on a medical trip is not coming back as the APC Chairman.
Amidst the confusion, the national secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC), John Akpanudoedehe has maintained that there is no crack in the ruling party.
Reacting to controversies surrounding the chairmanship of the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), Akpanudoedehe said Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni remains the party’s Chairman.
Naija News reports that the party chieftain stated this on Tuesday at a press conference in the party headquarters in Abuja.
Buni’s visit to President Buhari (who left Nigeria for the UK on March 6 for a medical checkup) comes amidst the leadership crisis rocking the party.
Below are some of the pictures from the visit.
Meanwhile, President Buhari had on Sunday warned that the APC must not be allowed to go the way of other political parties in Nigeria, warning the leaders to put their house in order.
