APC Primaries 2023 – Party Releases Update On Purchase Of Forms, Others
The All Progressives Congress, APC, has released an update on party activities ahead of its primary elections preceding the 2023 general elections.
According to the party, its schedule of activities and processes are done by the provisions of the Electoral Act 2022 (as amended) and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, timetable.
The ruling party, Naija News understands, maintained a status quo on the prices list for its Expression of Interest and its Nomination Forms.
APC in readiness to start receiving payment for the purchase of forms from aspirants, also released its seven accounts from different Nigerian banks.
Recall that the National Executive Council (NEC) of the APC had earlier handed powers to the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Following this development, the APC NEC fixed N100 million for its presidential nomination and expression of interest forms.
The APC governorship form costs N50 million; Senate, N20 million; House of Representatives, N10 million and State Houses of Assembly, N2 million.
The price tags for the political offices have since been decried by the general public, individuals, groups and aspirants.
The ruling party has, however, shunned the outcries as it set to begin sales of forms today, Naija News reports.
Though the party while trying to be fair enough, has concluded that persons with disabilities, women and youths that are 40 years and below, are not expected to pay the price for the nomination forms in full.
Women and persons with disabilities will only buy the Expression of Interest Forms, while they get the nomination forms for free.
While the youths will pay half of the nomination forms and make full payment for the Expression of interest forms.
