APC Sends Staff On Leave Ahead Of Tinubu’s Visit To National Secretariat
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has sent most of its staff on a one-day leave ahead of the visit of the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, and his running mate, Kashim Shettima, to the National Secretariat in Wuse, Abuja.
Naija News learned that the party send the staff on leave in order to reduce the population in the secretariat in preparation for the maiden visit of Tinubu and Shettima.
The former Governor of Lagos State had days after his emergence as the party’s presidential candidate in June been slated to visit the Buhari House, but the visit was later postponed.
However, Tinubu alongisde his running mate would now visit the party on Wednesday to discuss their campaign manifesto with the APC National Working Committee (NWC) and restrategize ahead of the political campaign, which begins on September 28.
According to Vanguard, workers expected to be at the secretariat are departmental directors, security personnel and a few of the senior staff.
An internal memo dated 6th September 2022 from the Director, Administration and addressed to “All Staff”, and titled “Notification of One Day Off Duty” stated thus; “With reference to the above subject matter, all staff is hereby directed to go on one day off duty tomorrow 7th September 2022.
“This directive has become necessary for crowd control during the visit of the Presidential Candidate of the Party.
“However, the under-listed category of staff will be on duty to render services for the day”.
