Breaking: Adamu Garba Dumps APC Over N100 Million Presidential Form
2023 Presidential hopeful, Adamu Garba has withdrawn his membership with the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
The politician confirmed this in a letter he personally signed and addressed to the party on Wednesday.
The letter sighted by Naija News on Garba’s official Twitter handle, stated clearly that his withdrawal from APC was because the party has drifted from its ‘original calling’.
Garba who recently announced his withdrawal from being a presidential aspirant under the umbrella of the ruling party said on Wednesday that it was clear to him that APC has chosen money over competency by pegging its presidential forms at N100million Naira.
Naija News understands that Garba had withdrawn from the presidential race earlier after getting a donation of over N83 million by Nigerians for him to purchase the APC expression of interest and nomination forms of N100 million.
Announcing his resignation from the party today, Garba said APC as a party has lost its moral standard democratic tenets.
He argued that as a young man, who believes in the future of Nigeria and had high hopes in APC before now, he cannot continue to retain membership of a party that according to him, favours money beyond competency, vested interest beyond common interest, chronic elitism beyond to public good, politics of exclusion beyond inclusion.
He added that he does not believe that any young man in Nigeria has a future or model worthy of emulation for the benefit of Nigeria in APC.
“I believe the party has drifted so much from the original beliefs of its foundation to a something more cynical, undemocratic institution,” Adamu Garba noted.
